You’re On Mute - The Podcast
As the subtitle explains, what you’ll hear on this podcast are a series of brief conversations – generally around 15 minutes long – with the thought that if you hate the one you’re listening to, well, the pain will be over soon. They’re also short because I grew weary of listening to the long rambling bro blatherfests that seem to proliferate, in which every word that comes out of their precious little mouths is deemed worth cherishing, recording and pushing out onto the unsuspecting public. Blech.
Prior to recording, I sent each guest four questions to review – or not – as they saw fit, and then, as recording began, I selected one of the questions for us to discuss. The questions tend to be large – about love, creativity, art, legacy, regret and more – and often we find ourselves drifting off onto tangents. In many ways these tangents are my favorite part of the episodes – where we’ve left behind what the guest had clearly prepared as an answer or framework, and where you can really hear them thinking about some new aspect of the question or their insight into it.
Hearing people really thinking is rare, isn’t it?
